Elton John...Their first hit, "Scarecrow", was recorded in 1967. They joined the staff of DJM Records in 1968 and spent the next two years writing songs for the label's various artists. John's self-titled breakthrough album was released in 1970 and featured the top ten single "Your Song". He played his first American concert at the Troubador in Los Angeles in support of the album. Soon after, John released his first American number one album, Honky Chateau. The album produced the chart-topping singles "Rocket Man" and "Honky Cat" and spent five weeks at the top of the American album charts. The single "Crocodile Rock" was featured on his 1973 album Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano Player and soon became John's first number one single in America.

Refusing to settle for second best, John released Goodbye Yellow Brick Road later in 1973, and it is considered to be one of his best albums by many. The album showcased the number one single "Bennie and the Jets" as well as other successful releases such as "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", "Candle in the Wind", and "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting". Noting the success of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Elton John signed an eight-million dollar contract with MCA Records, after which the company was reported to have taken a $25 million insurance policy on John's life. Since his first album was released in 1969, Elton John has recorded over thirty albums and released more than ten compilation albums.

Elton John's music was met with much critical acclaim in addition to its colossal commercial success. He was the recipient of a Grammy award in 1991 for his instrumental composition "Basque" and again in 1997 for his special recording of "Candle in the Wind", which he rewrote in honor of Princess Diana after her death. In addition to his Grammy awards, John boasts induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame as well as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He was recognized for his charitable work when he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II on February 24, 1998.

Elton John tickets will give you a chance to witness a musical legend in action. From his over-the-top appearance to his award-winning songwriting, Elton John tickets promise a night to remember.
