2014 Recap – The LSU Tigers watched their season go down the tubes in the last part of the season in 2014 as they lost four of their last five games, including a crushing loss to Notre Dame in the Music City Bowl. The lack of star quality at quarterback hurt LSU over the long haul as teams focused on stopping the run and the Tigers had now other answer. In Tigertown 8-5 simply won’t cut it. Read More...

2015 Preview – The Tigers will be working to improve their air game in 2015 but Head Coach les Miles won’t change his running stripes. LSU has a winner in Leonard Fournette. In his freshman season Fournette kept LSU in games with a 1,034 yard performance in a season that saw teams key in on stopping the run. The biggest question facing the Tigers is whether Anthony Jennings or Brandon Harris can make the quarterback position into enough of a threat to give Fournette more running room. While LSU does have two decent receivers in Malachi Dupre and Travin Dural, the Tigers must develop some type of home run threat through the air. With seven returning starters on offense, finding one player to ignite the offense (other than Fournette) could be the key to LSU getting back to the top of the SEC.

Defensively, LSU remains potent in 2015. Miles made some changes in the coaching staff on this side of the ball, bringing in Kevin Steele as Defensive coordinator and Ed Orgeron to beef up a pass rush that gave up way too much time to opposing quarterbacks. Steele has enough talent to make this a top defense, starting up front where Maquedius Bain and Tashawn Bower on the line and Christian Lacoutura, a 300-lb tackle in the middle. Linebacker Kendall Beckwith is a returning starter who led LSU in tackles last season, and free safety Jalen Mills comes into his senior season as a leader. At corner, LSU has both youth and experience in TreDavious White and the promising Kevin Toliver.

2015 Snapshot – Throwing the ball successfully is going to be the mantra for the 2015 LSU Tigers. Leonard Fournette will win games by himself against lesser opponents. LSU also has a demanding schedule, taking on Mississippi State, Auburn, Alabama, and Texas A&M. Playing in the toughest conference in the country means LSU must play tough defense and run a balanced offense to get back to double digit wins again.
